Kirk comes to North Jetty Brewing most directly from Buoy Beer Co. in Astoria, OR where he served as their first production brewer for almost two and a half years. Prior to his employment in Astoria, he worked at Payette Brewing Co. in Boise, ID. Kirk was initially hired at Payette Brewing as a bartender but quickly made his way to the brewery floor where he worked as a Cellarman before working his way to the brew deck. Unlike many brewers who spend years home brewing before making their way into the professional brewing world, Kirk’s brewing education and work experience has been in the professional production brewing arena. Kirk also worked for a number of years as a bartender at both Payette Brewing and Fat Fish Pub, a popular blues club in Galesburg, IL. Kirk will bring new recipes to you throughout the year and has brought back the Firkin program.
